Prioritize like a pro

Does it seem like there is always too many things to do?

Then you might benefit from The Eisenhower Matrix — a powerful tool to boost productivity by prioritizing your tasks effectively.

Named after Dwight Eisenhower, this system helps you focus on what truly matters by categorizing tasks into four quadrants: do, schedule, delegate, and eliminate.

Using this matrix as a decision making tool, you can:

  • Identify which tasks are truly urgent vs important. Urgent tasks require immediate attention, whereas important tasks can be scheduled and prioritized accordingly.
  • Eliminate unnecessary tasks to increase productivity. If this feels edgy, try telling yourself "if this is important, it will come back to me" as you hit delete.
  • Ensure your actions are impactful and aligned with your mission.

Stand out on LinkedIn

In a survey of his newsletter subscribers, Justin Welsh found that 34.3% struggle with growing a valuable audience, and 60.7% use LinkedIn as their primary platform. To address this, he shares four effective strategies for creating valuable content and building a LinkedIn following.

Here's the four strategies Justin presents:

  1. The value add commenter: Leave thoughtful comments on 5-10 posts in your network daily using the CEA formula: Compliment, Expand with insights, Ask a question.
  2. The micro-interview: Collaborate with three people weekly to cross-pollinate your audience. Ask them a specific, thought-provoking question and share their response. (Don't forget to @tag them).
  3. The trend translator: Set up Google Alerts for topics in your industry and translate breaking news using the formula: Breaking news + So what? + Now what?
  4. The contrarian spotlight: Challenge popular opinions once every week. Share the popular opinion and the unpopular opinion, and your own opinion. Ask your audience what they think to spark debate.

Try one of these strategies for the next 30 days and see how it impacts your LinkedIn engagement. And if you share your results, don't forget to credit Justin.

Hi Reader, If you’ve glanced at the news lately, you’ll know, it’s heavy out there(!) So much noise. So much division. It’s easy to feel like the world is drifting in the wrong direction. But this week, I came across a story that felt like a ray of sunshine. A reminder that change is happening quietly, steadily, and in ways that speak directly to the work we do as coaches. A coalition of purpose-led companies, including names like Dr. Bronner’s, Gaia Herbs, and Numi Tea, has come together to...

Hi Reader, If we’re honest, most of us don’t love being on the edge of the unknown. It’s uncomfortable. It asks more of us than just having a plan. It asks us to trust something deeper. To listen before we act. That’s exactly where I’ve been lately sitting at the edges of my comfort, feeling the old ways loosen their grip, and something new beginning to stir. I’ve been writing about it too, in a new white paper on Emergence, which I have shared with a few trusted colleagues. Their responses...

Hi Reader, Lately, I’ve been sitting with some big questions. About coaching. About what’s changing. About the space between where we’ve been and where we’re being called next. If you’re anything like me, you can feel it too, that sense that the old ways don’t quite fit anymore. The formulas, the pressure to perform, the constant noise telling us how we should grow… it can leave us feeling disconnected from the very reason we began this work in the first place. This is where I find myself...
